File System Updates

On any update, the file system can be updated using the following example done in cpanel.

Step 1. Upload the new zipped version.

Step 2. Make a backup copy of current source files.

The files are located in the RevMax directory, therefore, a simple copy of the entire directory will suffice. Be sure to name it something different than RevMax. For example, RevMax2018.1. This step can be done by simply renaming the directory if you choose.

Step 3. After a copy of the current RevMax directory has been made, unzip the upload in the desired location.

This is done by right-clicking the zip file, clicking extract and then enter.

This will result in 2 directories; the new source and the old source.

Step 4. Copy the existing config directory and its contents to the new version.

Go into the old source directory, and copy the existing config directory to the new source location.

Step 5. Replace the entire /admin/assets/ directory in the current pubic_html directory.

  1. Delete the existing /public_html/admin/assets directory.
  2. Copy the new assets directory from /RevMax/public/admin/assets to /public_html/admin

Step 6. File system cleanup.

AFTER updating in the browser (if required; see version specific update instructions), make sure the /RevMax/src/Install/, /RevMax/src/Update/ and /RevMax/src/Upgrade/ directories have been removed.

Step 7. Delete or archive the old source directory and zip upload at your discretion.
